Runs as a Windows Taskbar application or service

When you start up ID3 Butler, it runs as a Windows Taskbar application or you can set it to run as an automatic service that starts up with your operating system regardless of whether you have logged in or not. All menu selections are done by right clicking on the taskbar icon for ID3Butler.

Simple Menu Selection

You run ID3Butler by right clicking on the Taskbar icon. The menus provided allow you to control the schedule frequency of ID3Butlers's unattended operation, and tell it about your MP3 Collections so it can correctly tag each collection the way you want them to be tagged.

Flexible Schedule Management

ID3 Butler can be set to run hourly, daily or weekly. You determine the frequency that best fits your MP3 files changing. If you are using ID3 Butler with Podcast episodes, you'd probably want it to run hourly. But if you are updating your MP3 collections less frequently, set it to run at a schedule that best suits your needs.

MP3 Collection Management

You create as many MP3 Collections as you want in ID3 Butler. Each collection typically points to a folder that ID3 Butler will monitor and update for you. For each folder, you set the ID3 Tags that you want to be changed (or not) and that's it. ID3 Butler does all the rest of the work for you.

You can instruct ID3 Butler on how to handle each collection you create. There is no limit to the number of collections you can manage in ID3 Butler. Each collection has a source folder, and then you simply set the ID3 Tags handling. You can elect to override or not override certain tags. In the case of the ID3 Title tag (the Title name that appears on your MP3 Player for each MP3 file), you can even set it to prefix the Title with the date that the MP3 file was originally created - this forces sorting on some players based on chronological date making it easy to find the latest podcast episodes you download.
